Responsible for the preparation of food for all clients on a day to day basis, storage and disposal of food, for maintaining kitchen and storage area sanitation and safety standards, ensuring that all work/storage areas are clean, free of hazards and properly arranged.
Creating menus.
Weekly supplies and groceries purchased.
Ensure compliance with state, local and regulatory agencies as they relate to food service.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist Chef in preparing food for patients / clients.
Shop for or order food and kitchen supplies and equipment.
Peel, wash, trim, and cook vegetables and meats, bake breads and pastries.
Prepare meals in our locations according to employers' vision.
Stock, organize, and clean kitchens and cooking utensils.
Direct the operation and organization of kitchens and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food.
Plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events.
Ensure compliance with state, local, and regulatory agencies as they relate to food service.
Qualifications:
Experience with food preparation including cooking and grocery/supply purchasing.
The ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently.
The ability to work independently without supervision.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted.
The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time and work overtime as needed.
The ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements.
Ensure proper portioning, preparation and serving of foods according to standards.
Adhere to all kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
Follow departmental procedures, including proper storage of dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
